Donna Abbott

I am a native of Atlanta, but grew up in Charlotte, NC. After college at Western Carolina University and Winthrop College, I returned to Charlotte and began 24 years in the banking industry – thirteen with First Union National Bank and the last eleven years with SunTrust Bank. As a retail banker, I served as a branch manager and then as an area manager, responsible for nine branch banks. In the last three years of my banking career, I became a client advisor in the private wealth department. There, I obtained my professional licenses; Series 6, 63, 7, 66 and Life and Variable Insurance.

In 1991, while still with First Union, I moved to Savannah and in 1998 I married my husband, Reggie Abbott, Jr., a Savannah native. Reggie and I built our first home in the Southbridge neighborhood in 2001. Since then, we have built and renovated many more homes for ourselves as well as investment properties, ranging from starter houses to $500,000 luxury homes, all in the Greater Savannah area. Because of this, I have gained deep experience in the local real estate market.

After leaving the banking industry in 2009, I became an independent contractor with Premier Designs Jewelry, a direct sales company. Ultimately, I realized that a career in real estate could combine my experience in banking, investments and home buying, with my passion for customer service and sales. So in 2016, I became a licensed realtor with an eye toward helping clients with one of their most significant investments – selling or buying a home.
I believe it’s crucial that a realtor bring a depth of knowledge and involvement in the community she serves. Since becoming a realtor I have achieved the Distinguished Sale Society each year. In my 30 years as a Savannah resident, I’ve built a network of friends and colleagues through a host of organizations and activities, including:
Compassion Christian Church and the Lighthouse, a help ministry. My husband and I also both serve during the holidays for “The Journey,” a production about the birth of Christ. We participate in a weekly Life Group through our church, studying the Bible.
The Junior League of Savannah for 12 years and a board member for two years.
FEMA Volunteer in the aftermath of hurricane Andrew in 1992, as well as three various mission trips; one to hurricane Isabel in the Outer Banks of NC, another to hurricane Katrina in New Orleans and to Tennessee to assist with a disability ministry that our church supports.
Junior Achievement volunteer teacher for two years.
Southbridge Women’s Club, a social organization for the Southbridge neighborhood, including three years on the board and one as SWC president.
Gateway Community Church in Pooler, including serving on the start-up board for three years.

Finally, I am an avid tennis player and love to exercise. One of the most wonderful things about Savannah is the opportunity we have to play sports year-round because of the mild weather.
